Physiotherapy Services
Manual Therapy
Hands on muscle, joint and fascial mobilization/manipulation aimed at restoring the tissues natural mobility and reducing pain.
Anatomical Acupuncture
The insertion of non-traumatic small filaments into the tissues aimed at balancing the bodies systems to reduce pain and inflammation, and as a means of stimulating the body’s own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation.
IMS
An assessment and treatment technique using acupuncture needles to release or lengthen taut dysfunctional muscle bands that are causing chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain.
Trigger point release
Release of focal muscle bands or “knots” using manual therapy or acupuncture needles.
Education
Information given to help you better understand your injury or body. Specifically related to you physical exam, diagnosis, prognosis, and rehabilitation.
Exercise prescription
A custom designed exercise program to fit your specific need or injury
Concussion Management
Post concussion assessment, and guided treatment for return to work, school, and activity. May include vestibular rehabilitation.
Vestibular Rehabilitation (call to inquire)
An exercise-based program for individuals who are experiencing vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbances and/or imbalances.
Preseason strengthening/ Injury prevention
Assessment and custom designed strength, stretch and proprioception programming to help prepare for the activities you love.
Taping
Protective, supportive or facilitative taping techniques for all of our client's needs.
Bracing
Custom and non-custom bracing for pre/post-op and preventative needs; Including ACL and other ligaments, meniscus and osteoarthritis knee braces, as well as other supportive and offloading products.
Custom Orthotics
Assessment and fitting for custom rehab and accommodative foot orthotics. Designed to maximize proper foot biomechanics/health, and minimize stress and strain on the foot.
Professional Bike Fitting
Biomechanical assessment and adjustment of bike/rider to achieve maximal comfort and power while riding, and reduce the risk of fit based injuries.
Therapeutic Modalities
Any external device used to promote healing.
Ultrasound
The application of high frequency sound waves to the tissue to stimulate increased blood flow. Therapeutic ultrasound can be used to increase tissue pliability, reduce local swelling, chronic inflammation, reduce pain, stimulate collagen synthesis, and increase local circulation to accelerate the healing of musculoskeletal tissues after injury.
IFC
An electrotherapeutic treatment where small amounts of electrical current are sent through the skin to stimulate the tissues around an injury to reduce pain, stimulate muscles, reduce swelling and inflammation, increase blood flow and promote healing.
TENS
Electrical stimulation across the skin to an injured or painful area of the body which primarily aims to reduce pain by stimulating the sensory nerves.
Heat
Application of direct heat to the tissue used to aid in the relaxation of tight muscles, to increase pliability of tissues, to increase blood flow and to reduce pain.
Ice
Used to reduce pain by slowing the nerve conduction of the pain message, limit the extent of the inflammatory reaction of acute injuries by temporarily reducing blood flow to superficial blood vessels.
